Elluminate Help
 
 

To participate in the Elluminate virtual classroom there are a few things that you must do in preparation. It is best to make sure you can log into the classroom a few days before your scheduled webinar to avoid running into problems on the presentation day.

 

Login 

If this is your first time to log into Elluminate Live! then follow steps 1- 4. If you have logged in before then ignore steps 2 & 3.

1.) Click on the "Elluminate" graphic on the E-Training home page.

2.) Install "JAVA".
       - There is a yellow information bar at the top of the page, click this to install "JAVA".
       - Select "Run Active X Control".
       - When the Security Warning pops up, select "Run" or "Start".

3.) Launch "Elluminate Live!"
       - Click the yellow information bar at the top of the page again.
       - This time select "Download file".
       - When the Security Warning pops up, select "Allow" or "Start".
       - When the License comes up, select "I agree".

4.) Sign in
       - Type your name, or whatever you have been instructed to sign in as.
       - Click "Login".

You're in! Congratulations.

*NOTE*: Be sure and login 30 minutes before your scheduled webinar. This gives you time to make sure everything is working correctly.

5.) Log Out
       - Closing the window will log you out. You have left the webinar session.

Participation

Elluminate has many ways to participate in your webinar. It is designed to be very interactive and to give you the feel and accessibility of a real classroom. There is not enough space to describe all of Elluminate's classroom features, so here are just a few of the basics to get you comfortable with the layout. If your instructor chooses to use a feature not described below, be assured that you will be instructed on what to do when the time comes.

  Participants List - Your name and the other class participants are listed here.

Raise Hand   Raise Hand - This button puts a number next to your name in numerical order of who raised their hand first. Your Moderator might ask participants to raise their hand to answer a question or to get a count of people.

Emotion Icons   Emotion Icons - Clicking one of these will flash the selected emotion next to your name (see below). This is good for giving feedback to the Moderator. The emotions available are: smiley face, confused face, applause, and thumbs down.

Step Away   Step Away - This lets the Moderator and other participants know that you have stepped away from your computer for a moment. Your name will appear grayed-out in the Participants List (see below). However, you have not left the session. To let everyone know that you have returned, click the button again.

Chat Box   Chat Box - The Chat Box is used to communicate with your Moderator or with the other participants. Notice the "eye" icon,Eye Icon. This is to let everyone know that all chat is seen by the Moderator. So, mind your P's & Q's.

Viewing Previously Recorded Sessions

To view your recorded webinar session click here to go to the page where the sessions are all listed. Check the time and date for your session and click the appropriate link. A separate window will open and your session will play.
